If you are concerned about side effects, talk to your childs healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of alprostadil. If you are using this medicine, talk to your health care provider or pharmacist about your treatment options. If you are using tadalafil (5-mg) a day, ask your healthcare provider how you should use this medicine with the injection. If you are using Bimix or Papaverine, you do not need to store your medications in your refrigerator, because these medications do not contain alprostadil.
Do not use alprostadil more than your healthcare provider has ordered, or in larger amounts. Alprostadil pellets should not be used more than twice within 24 hours. It is recommended that you monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature before and after using alprostadil.
Patients with coronary heart disease, while using Alprostadil, should use caution in sexual activities. Alprostadil should not be used for men for whom sexual activity is unadvisable or is not recommended.
Alprostadil is available as an injectable treatment, that is, alprostadil is injected into the base of your penis. This is why self-injection alprostadil treatment is still considered to be first-line/gold standard therapy to treat ED.
